Regenerative Potential of Intravenous Infusion with Mononuclear Cells in Cord Blood and G-CSF-Mobilized Peripheral Blood

چکیده
Cell therapy has emerged as an advanced medical technology for restoring damaged tissues and organs. Of the various possible cell types, MSCs have been used most frequently in experiments and in clinical trials in the field of regenerative medicine [1]. Since the technical difficulties of manufacturing MSCs and the regulatory restrictions imposed tend to be barriers to clinical application [2], only a few MSCbased new drugs have been developed so far. Compared with MSCs, MNCs derived from bone marrow (BM), CB, or mPB, has not been frequently used for studying tissue regeneration. Increased efforts to examine the therapeutic benefits of MNCs could provide greater choice for cell therapy, because MNCs are easily obtained and are subject to few regulatory restrictions.

Immediate Exposure to TNF-α Activates Dendritic Cells Derived from Non-Purified Cord Blood Mononuclear Cells
Background: Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) is a primary mediator of immune regulation and might be required in the early stages of DC development from CD34+ cells. However, details of optimal timing of exposure to TNF-α in DC development process in monocytes or non-purified hematopoitic cells are still lacking and clear benefits of this approach to the development of DCs remain to be valid...

Between June 1989 and June 1992, 144 patients participated in sequential clinical trials using peripheral blood progenitor cells (PBC) as their sole source of hematopoietic rescue following high-dose chemotherapy. All patients had received prior extensive combination chemotherapy and had marrow defects that precluded autologous bone marrow transplantation (ABMT). PBC were collected according to...

متن کاملEffect of Intravenous Infusion of G-CSF-Mobilized Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells on Upper Extremity Function in Cerebral Palsy Children
OBJECTIVE To investigate the effect of intravenous infusion of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (mPBMC) mobilized by granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) on upper extremity function in children with cerebral palsy (CP). METHODS Fifty-seven children with CP were enrolled. Ten patients were excluded due to follow-up loss. In total, 47 patients (30 males and 17 females) were analyzed....

The proliferative responsiveness of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF)-mobilized blood was studied in uni-directional mixed leukocyte cultures. Unfractionated mononuclear cells from mobilized blood obtained by leukapheresis at day 4 after initiation of G-CSF (G-PBMC) were hyporesponsive (31.5% +/- 9.2% response, P = .003) compared to mononuclear cells obtained from the peripheral blo...
